Class Preliminary Exercise
04:18This post is about the first preliminary Exercise:
These shots had to be added into our exercise so that we could create the best possible film. We used outside lighting and features to create the setting (school) for our film, the character (Ellie) is dressed in relaxed, normal, everyday kind of clothing to help establish the setting of a school orientated atmosphere.
We had to incorporate many different shots in our film so that it didn't seem too contrived. The shots that we decided to use had to be varied, so those were shots such as;
- Continuity Shot
- Shot-reverse Shot
- Shot types
- Eye Line Match
- Sound (Dialogue)
- Lighting
- Transactions
Different people where given different shots to do in the creating of this film. This allowed everyone to be able to have a go at using the camera and being the director of their own shot. Together a lot of good shots were produced which created our film. Once all the shots were put together and sorted through, everyone was able to edit it the shots themselves to create their own version of the film. This was good practice as it introduced us to the reality of creating peoples own films and being in control of what music and shots you want in what positions and how long you want them on screen for.
The order of the shots for people were as follows:
- Ruth / EXT
- Annabel / EXT
- Lara / DOOR
- Beth / HALL
- Molly
- Ben
- James
