Role Models
Narrative
Danny and Wheeler, well into their 30's, lack something: Danny feels stuck; he's sour and due to this has driven away his terrific girlfriend. Whereas Wheeler chases any skirt he sees. They work day-to-day in their boring, endless jobs, which ends up with them getting in a fight with a tow-truck driver. They choose community service over jail and are assigned to be 'big brothers' - Danny to Augie, a geek who loves to LARP (Live Action Role Play), and Wheeler to Ronnie, a pint-size foul-mouthed kid. After a rocky start, things start to go well until both Danny and Wheeler both make big mistakes.
Shots
At the beginning of the trailer there is a close up shot of one thee the male actors, as he complains about his job. This then turns into a Two Shot as the two characters enter into a conversation about why the job they have is the one for them. Further on into the trailer there is a Point-Of-View shot as Wheeler wakes up and looks at the female character he had been with the night before. The picture suddenly changes to an Establishing shot of the room in which both characters are in. There is a Medium Shot as both male characters talk to the female about their community service. Towards the end there is a pan of the characters stood in a line of some sort of 'Army' showing strength and power. There is then a Two Shot of one of the male and female characters sat together having a drink, this shows then in some sort of relationship, and showing them having some sort of hidden feelings for each other. The ending of the trailer shows the characters in a car as Wheeler say goodbye to Ronnie, this could be a Close Up shot, as they are filmed from the shoulders up, to show the small space as to which they are sat in.
Editing
At the beginning of the trailer there is Continuity Editing as it shows Wheeler and Danny together in a car. It then changes into Jump Cut editing as they show the different lectures they do during the day at the different schools. This then turns into Cutaway editing to show them back in the car to introduce Danny. This then goes on to show a bit about Danny's life. The shot then Jump cuts to introduce Wheeler and then goes on to show a bit about Wheeler. During the remainder of the trailer the scene's continue to Jump Cut throughout the different points of the film, to compliment the genre of comedy and so as to not give too much away to the viewers.
Sound
Throughout the course of the trailer there is Incidental music helping to set the atmosphere as humorous and busy. Along with the Incidental music there is Voiceover throughout the whole trailer as well as Diegetic sound. This helps to set the feeling of humor and difficulty. Throughout the course of the trailer there is a lot of Ambient sound, this for the viewer the viewer to establish the genre of the film and creates a more real effect for the film.
